If the following letter and responses don't make you weep, go immediately to the nearest hospital and beg for a heart implant.

Thank you from Cee-gar man and family

We thank you for your warmth and prayers. I read the web site with all the wonderful people that have thought of us. We are truly blessed.

Nick had surgery a week ago to remove shrapnel from the bottom of his surviving eye, that was narrowly missed.

I read him all the comments on this site before he went to sleep, he went to sleep a very happy man with a smile on his face.

You will often hear him say he feels like George Bailey from the movie, It's a Wonderful Life.

Reading all of this reminds us of the part where you can hear all the towns prayers from the heavens in the very beginning of the movie. He is thankful for life and will travel down the path that God has chosen for him, without questioning it.

I am truly a very lucky lady to have such a wonderful man as my husband and our son could not have a better man to be his father.

In the first hours of uncertainty, I prayed that he would remain here on earth to finish his mission in life..to inspire and give strength to others. He has started that mission almost immediately back in Iraq when he was still laying on the gurney and yelled out a Ooh Rah. His mission has just begun.

I am typing this thank you for him, his eyesight in his good eye is still a little blurred. He was very honored that you all have said such wonderful things about him. He tells me that the people like you are what drives him to proudly serve this wonderful country of ours, you make sacrafice worth it. Thank you all so very much, from the Cee-gar Man and family.

It's great to read your husband is doing good and we are one lucky country to have people like you and your husband who serve and protect and sacrifice so much. God bless you and thank YOU.

Bless Ya Cee-gar Man...You have been in the prayers of a lot of folks. Heal your body and strengthen your spirit.

May the Lord hold your husband close and speed him along in his recovery. HE is the example, not us! Thank you for your service and sacrifice to this great Country.

Thank you both for your sacrifices. God bless you and God bless America.

Hi April,

What a wonderful message to wake up to this morning. I just saw a replay of the clip of Cee-gar Man being transported on that gurney yesterday on Fox News yesterday. We praise God that he was spared and will continue to do his good deeds.

I am sure he is eager to get back in the saddle, but tell him to take his time, take it slow. He deserves a good and complete recovery.

Thank you guys for your contribution to the U.S. and to the world. May God bless you triple fold.

Hug and kiss little cee-gar guy for us and tell him that we are proud of him also.
Welcome home Cee-gar Man US Marine.

Wow. Thank you for taking the time to respond, for lifting our spirits.

Thanks, too, for helping some of us formerly clueless Americans understand the awesome courage and sacrifices of our military spouses, and their children.

Keeping YOUR "Ceegar" man (and our terrific response to the fearmongers and quagmire-peddlers) - and his family - in prayer!

Bless you!

Welcome to FR. Please tell your husband he lifted our spirits too. His smiling face will always be the face of Victory for me and for many others.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us how Nick is doing. Please thank him for his service and let him know my family prays for a quick recovery. We also will pray for you and your son as you go through this time of healing and searching.

Your husband's face will always be the face of the American military to me. Thank you both so much for letting us know.

Thank you.

It is people like you and your family who make this country great. I appreciate your sacrifice as well as the opportunity to relay this message to you.

God bless you.

He tells me that the people like you are what drives him to proudly serve this wonderful country of ours, you make sacrifice worth it.

I cannot read that without tearing up. He is truly a hero. I had to laugh when I read he yelled Oo Rah from the gurney. A Marine to the core! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

God Bless you and your brave husband!
I have been reading Free Republic for awhile but never have really felt the urge to post. I have always felt that our fantastic fighting men and women are the best this country has to offer and your post just made me want to let you know how I feel about them. So I took the time to register, just to let you know how much I appreciate what you husband and his fellow fighting men are done for us. I have just finished saying a prayer for your wonderful husband and his comrades in arms. God bless you and little Cee-Gar Man.

We thank you and your husband for his service and your sacrifice and pray his injuries heal as quickly as possible. My heart bleeds when I hear of one of our beloved soldiers injured like this.

Please hug him for us. Our military means the world to us. We can never thank them, or you, enough.

The picture of your husband, should be hanging in every Marine recruiting office. He is the quintessential professional Marine. You have every reason to be proud, and he serves as an example to me, that this country is still turning out patriots and good men.
Lord Jesus Christ, please bless this man and his family. Thank you Lord for raising up men like this whose honor and devotion to duty bless this nation. Lord I pray that we are given strength and wisdom to keep the freedom you have blessed us with and that we may all grow in wisdom and closer to you Lord, Creator of all good things, and Author of our FREEEEEEDOM! Father, I pray in the name and with the authority given us by your son, our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer, our King, Jesus Christ. Amen.
No thank YOU! Your family's sacrifices do not go unappreciated.

God bless you all!

Mrs. Ceegar Guy,

You just made my day. No, my year! Thank you so much for letting us know Ceegar Guy is back in the loving arms of his family. We're all so proud of him and forever in his debt. I hope you will let us know if there's EVER anything we can do for you and your guys.

Thank you for your commitment to serving our country. I have to echo other FReepers in saying that the joy on your face in that picture will always represent the victory in Iraq.
God bless you, Mrs. Cee-gar man! (that just doesn't SOUND right! LOL!!)

You are indeed a blessed woman, and your son a blessed child...but I have the feeling that THEY are blessed too, to have you in their lives.

Please know that we SO MUCH appreciate his service to America, and know too that we're here to help you, should you need it.

Thanks so much for posting this!

Ooh Rah !!!!!
Hoo-Yah !!!!!
Hurrah !!!!!
Good news about Cee-gar Man is making me Ga-Ga!!!!!
God bless this Marine, God bless our troops and God bless America!

Please tell your husband he lifted our spirits too. His smiling face will always be the face of Victory for me and for many others.

You said it so Well!!! He was our inspiration for all the marines over in Iraq! We were looking at the true face of American manliness!

I am so sad to learn of Cee-gar Man's injury! Thank you so much for updating on his progress and sharing with us the kind of man he is.

The courage and dedication exhibited by you and your family are appreciated. God has blessed America with wonderful people like you!

Prayers for your family and for a rapid recovery for the man who depicts Operation Iraqi Freedom for many of us.

Thanks for the ping, RC!

You honor us and humble us with your presence here.

May God bless your family ... he has already blessed our nation with the likes of heroes such as you, Nick!

Welcome home and prayers for a speedy recovery for Nick!

I prayed that he would remain here on earth to finish his mission in life..to inspire and give strength to others.

I'm so grateful for wonderful people like you and your husband. You both have given me strength and inspiration.

Please tell Nick because of men like him I've never been prouder to be an American.

Thank you just doesn't seem like enough. My friends and I work to spread the good news from Iraq and keep those we know and people we meet focused on why Iraq's liberation is so important for our county's security. We will stay focused on support for the troops and the mission. Nick, all the brave fighting troops and their families at home are our George Baileys' (my favorite movie, btw), we wouldn't be who we are if they weren't the courageous, unselfish people they are.

Give the Gunny my best. He's a credit to our beloved Corps.

Semper Fi.

What we need is one man like Nick on every tank we have and large supply of cigars. :)

Have a nice day and thank you.

You folks make my heart swell with pride and honor. Prayers for a continued healing process and bless you all.
